Lee Equity Promotes Five Investment Professionals

LEE EQUITY PROMOTES FIVE INVESTMENT PROFESSIONALS

NEW YORK, New York, January 10, 2017 - Lee Equity Partners is a New York based private equity firm focused on growth oriented middle market buyout investments today announced the promotion of five investment professionals.  Geoffrey Lieberthal, Rahul “Billy” Nand and Collins Ward were promoted to Partner; Eric Hsu was promoted to Vice President; and John Ettinger was promoted to Senior Associate.

Including the three partner promotions, the average tenure of the Lee Equity investment partners is close to 10 years.

The promotions are effective as of January 1, 2017, and include:

Geoffrey Lieberthal

Geoffrey Lieberthal was promoted from Principal to Partner. In addition to portfolio management, his responsibilities include investment thesis generation and sourcing, structuring, execution, monitoring and exit strategy.  Prior to joining Lee Equity, Mr. Lieberthal was a Principal at Texas Pacific Group. Prior to Texas Pacific Group, he was a Vice President at Bain Capital Partners and a Consultant at Bain & Company. His transaction background includes retail, healthcare and generalist transactions. Mr. Lieberthal serves on the board of directors of Paragon Industries and Eating Recovery Center. From 2008-2010 he served on the board of directors of Axcan Pharma (now known as Aptalis Pharma), a Texas Pacific Group portfolio company. Mr. Lieberthal received an M.B.A from Stanford Business School and a B.A. from Dartmouth College with cum laude honors.

Rahul “Billy” Nand

Rahul Nand was promoted from Principal to Partner. In addition to portfolio management, his responsibilities include investment thesis generation and sourcing, structuring, execution, monitoring and exit strategy.  Prior to joining Lee Equity in 2007 as an Associate, Mr. Nand was a Senior Business Analyst in the Corporate Finance Practice at McKinsey & Company. Mr. Nand received a B.S. in Finance and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois. Mr. Nand serves on the boards of Cross MediaWorks and Captive Resources, LLC. 

Collins Ward

Collins Ward was promoted from Principal to Partner. In addition to portfolio management, his responsibilities include investment thesis generation and sourcing, structuring, execution, monitoring and exit strategy. Prior to joining Lee Equity in 2006 as an Associate, Mr. Ward was a Senior Associate Consultant in the Private Equity Practice and the Strategic Consulting Practice of Bain & Company. Mr. Ward received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and upon graduating participated in the U.S. Fulbright program as a German Scholar in Engineering. Mr. Ward graduated with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar. Mr. Ward serves on the board of Interluxe Holdings, LLC and Prelude Fertility.

Eric Hsu

Eric Hus was promoted from Senior Associate to Vice President. His responsibilities range from investment thesis generation and sourcing, to structuring, due diligence, execution and monitoring. Prior to joining Lee Equity in 2013 as an Associate, Mr. Hsu was an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company. Eric received a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College.

John Ettinger

John Ettinger was promoted from Associate to Senior Associate. His responsibilities include financial modeling, due diligence, execution and monitoring. Prior to joining Lee Equity, Mr. Ettinger was a Consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. He received a B.A. in Economics from Yale University with summa cum laude honors.
